TLDR: Do more of what makes you happy
Maybe my favorite phrase:
We’re adults, we can do whatever we want.
I’m not sure when I started saying that, but it’s one phrase that seems to resonate with most everyone who hears it.
I often wonder why.
Maybe it resonates because of the rules we’re all subject to as kids, or the fact that the adults seem to have made them unilaterally.
Perhaps it validates the individuality people have always suspected themselves capable of.
Or, that they believe their judgement is superior, and their potential is uniquely undiscovered.
But maybe, just maybe, it’s that deep down they know it’s true.
That is, we are adults, and we can do whatever we want.
Not to be mistaken with a lack of consequences, nor confused with power.
Doing what we want is purely about the freedom of choice and the possibility of action.
You can, quite literally, do anything you want.
Challenge what you’re ‘supposed to do’ with what you ‘want to do’ and do more of what makes you happy.
See you Monday.
