TLDR: If you don’t have rituals at work, you’re missing something magical
Corporate rituals are storied among the world’s best companies.
At LinkedIn it was our every other week all hands.
For my teams back then, it was our Monday Morning Meetings.
At Coda it’s Dory & Pulse.
At Amazon it’s six page memos.
Google is famous for OKR’s.
The list continues.
And there are three golden rules of great corporate rituals…
They’re named
Every employee knows them by their first Friday
They’re templated
At Antler US, we do Best Month in Antler History.
The first Friday of every month we review the progress over the previous month.
We are stronger this month than we were last month, and we’ll be stronger next month than we are this month.
It has a name. Every employee knows about it in their first week. And it’s templated.
And it’s not just us. Here’s Lenny’s podcast for more:
Regardless of whether you’re leading a team, a company, or are an individual contributor, defining effective rituals are a massive unlock for clarity over your work and developing a common language that scales.
See you Monday.
